Side EffectsThe normal and predictable side effects of conventional treatments for prostate problems make alternative treatments a high priority. There is every chance that restorative practices will solve your prostate problems altogether -- if not, there are no side effects to such life-giving activities as fasting, eating good food and drinking clean water, taking natural remedies and removing toxins. Common side effects of surgery and radiation treatments for prostate problems are impotence and incontinence. Exact numbers on their incidence are a bit elusive particularly with impotence, which depends entirely on what a man says about his sex life "before" and "after". Medical studies tend to show most of the men were not sexually active prior to their prostate cancer treatment, as if this were some justification for being impotent afterwards. You can find studies to prove percentages between 15% and 80%+, for impotence and incontinence, however somewhere between 60-80% seems to be accurate, certainly no where near the 15-20% claimed by many medical practitioners. These are not odds that appeal to most men, if honestly stated. When you add to these odds that the recurrence rate for cancer is 35% recurrence in 5 years and 75% recurrence in 10 years, why would any man want to have surgery or radiation? Consider the recovery time for surgery of 6-8 weeks and the time and sick feelings and baldness for 8 weeks of radiation. Radical Prostectomy is just that -- major surgery -- cutting through the abdomen and the major muscle groups, nerves and tissue there. These treatments also weaken the immune system when it is most needed. Because they do not address the causes of the cancer, in most cases it will return, as is well demonstrated by the recurrence studies. Doesn't it make more sense to treat the causes by cleansing, pH balancing and strengthening the immune system, to heal the cancer so that it will not return? The side effects are an enhanced sex life and a healthier, happier life at very little cost compared to the medical approach with more and more money required to treat all the negative side effects. Of the medical treatments, Seed Implants certainly have the least side effects, studies and personal investigation, show them to be nil. Urologists say the procedure is too new and good data on survival is not available, but you should do your own research, because seed implants seem to have a better survival rate and a far superior quality of life. Andy Grove's article in Fortune magazine may still be the best written on the subject. For information about side effects, we invite you to read: Andy Grove's HDR Still a Success Story??
