Herbs

Herbal medicine is the most ancient form of health care known to humankind. From the earliest times, humans have looked to the plant kingdom for remedies for physical and emotional ills, resulting in a long history of the use of herbs for healing that spans every culture. Today approximately 25 percent of all prescription drugs are still derived from trees, shrubs, or herbs. The World Health Organization has found that of 119 plant-derived pharmeceutical medicines, about 75 percent are used in modern medicine in ways that correlate directly with their traditional uses as plant medicines in native cultures.
